DFW’s High School Football Game of the Week Comes to FOX 4 PLUS This Fall
DALLAS-FORT WORTH – August 6, 2026 – FOX 4 PLUS is bringing high school football action to its viewers for this fall with the launch of the High School Football Game of the Week presented by Sonic. The showdowns will feature some of the top programs across North Texas.
Marquee matchups are set for all 11 weeks of the 2026 regular season. Ten of the games will take place on Thursday evenings, plus one under the Friday night lights. Each will be broadcast live on FOX 4 PLUS and simulcast on the FOX LOCAL app.
FOX 4 PLUS is a premium extension of North Texas’ most trusted news leader on KDFI Channel 27. It is available on Spectrum/Frontier Channel 7, DirecTV/DISH Channel 27, plus antenna 27.1 and 4.2. It can also be accessed through YouTube TV and Fubo.
The FOX LOCAL app is available for free on Roku, Amazon FireTV, Apple TV, Google Android TV, Vizio, and your smartphone. Viewers in Dallas-Fort Worth and nationwide can navigate to FOX 4 when selecting a city.

Jeff Watts Productions will produce the broadcasts, bringing over two decades of experience covering top local games on Dallas-Fort Worth television.

The broadcast team is set to feature veteran play-by-play announcer Doug Anderson, analyst LaDarrin McLane, and sideline reporter Chris Mycoskie. Anderson and McLane will partner in the booth for their 21st consecutive season as the voices of DFW high school football on TV, while Mycoskie returns for his seventh straight year at field level.
The FOX 4 PLUS High School Football Game of the Week presented by Sonic schedule begins Thursday, Aug. 27, with Arlington Bowie traveling to face Prosper Rock Hill. The Volunteers have won back-to-back district championships, while the Blue Hawks have also reached the postseason in consecutive seasons.
Week 2 features Mansfield Timberview at Denton Ryan on Thursday, Sept. 3. The Raiders beat the Wolves 20-12 last season, then went on to put together a 12-win campaign that ended in a regional final. The game will mark one of the first under new leadership for Denton Ryan, as Shane Tolleson took over for the retiring Dave Henigan in the offseason.
Melissa moved up to Class 5A-Division I this season following a trip to the state semifinal round in 5A-II last year. The Cardinals will travel to Class 6A perennial powerhouse Rockwall on Thursday, Sept. 10, as the Yellowjackets look to rebound from a rare down year.
One of the most anticipated games of the season takes place on Thursday, Sept. 17, with Allen visiting Prosper in both teams’ District 6-6A opener. The two sets of Eagles had an unforgettable matchup last year, with Allen winning 31-30 on the strength of a Jaden Hambric 9-yard rushing touchdown with 1:12 remaining before a missed 46-yard Prosper field goal as time expired.
Frisco Wakeland makes the move to Class 6A this year, landing in a tough District 5-6A alongside Denton Guyer. The two programs meet on Thursday, Sept. 24. While Chandler Isom’s Wolverines expect to be in the playoff mix, Dave Campbell’s Texas Football projects the Wildcats as the favorite to capture another district championship under Reed Heim.
The FOX 4 PLUS crew visits Fort Worth ISD on Thursday, Oct. 1, for a battle of playoff teams from a year ago: Benbrook vs. Eastern Hills. Last season, the Highlanders earned their first postseason victory in 26 years, beating Kennedale in the Class 4A-Division I bi-district round. During the regular season, Eastern Hills needed overtime to beat the Bobcats.
Keller hosts the Game of the Week on Thursday, Oct. 8, as Byron Nelson comes to town. The visiting Bobcats are coming off a 10-win campaign that included a run to the regional final round. When these teams met in 2025, Keller led 20-16 at halftime, then Byron Nelson rallied to win 30-27.
Last year, both Highland Park and Carrollton Creekview won district championships. The Scots and Mustangs now reside together in District 6-5A I, and they’ll meet Thursday, Oct. 15, on FOX 4 PLUS. HPHS quarterback Buck Randall returns following a 12-win season that concluded with a regional final berth.
The lone Friday broadcast on the FOX 4 PLUS schedule is Oct. 23, as Parish Episcopal meets Prestonwood in a rematch of the 2025 TAPPS Division I state championship game. The Panthers prevailed 14-7, securing their sixth title in seven years.
As the regular season nears its conclusion, games on Oct. 29 and Nov. 5 will be determined closer to kickoff. This will allow FOX 4 PLUS to feature matchups with the greatest playoff or district championship implications.
